The volcanic areas of America are few and far between but one of the most spectacular is Lassen Volcanic National Park it also contains the worlds biggest plug dome volcano (mount Lassen at 10,462 ft) as well as its famous cinder cone volcano, hot mud pots, sulphur works, lava beds, ash dunes and nature. the cinder cone is the parks second biggest attraction after mount Lassen it is the cone of an extinct volcano it is made entirely of ash and small pumice pebbles the ash is very fine like sand and when raised into the air by foot fall it gets into the repertory system and dries out the throat and mouth.
